In response to the COVID-19 pandemic LABS Collective remains committed to providing environments for people to create, connect and thrive.
LABS takes its duty of care for staff and members very seriously, UK Government guidance is being continually monitored and followed.
All our buildings remain open, for the essential businesses who need space to maintain their operations and the members who are unable to work from home. We have been continually reimagining our spaces so they are safe, secure and supportive for all who work in them, identifying every possible way to protect everyone.
Full details of our Safety At Work plan for members can be found here
Any LABS member who wishes to discuss their lease should contact [email protected]. A range of services and support have been provided by the government to help businesses during this time and we advise that businesses continue to refer to the official website for updates.
We would not be where we are without the continued support of our amazing members and we are truly grateful for all of those who are standing with us. We continue to monitor the status of the pandemic daily and follow government advice to ensure the safety of all LABS members and staff.
This year has shown that the need for community is more important than ever and during the first lockdown we were proud to deliver a number of initiatives to support emergency services and the vulnerable.
Our largest event space, Camden House, was made available for those in need and used by a local soup kitchen to prepare food to deliver to some of Camden’s most vulnerable. In addition we offered a number of vacant private offices across the buildings, to the emergency services and critical call centres for use as they required.
To further support the community, our sister brand, STAY in Hawley Wharf, provided bedrooms within its apartments for those working in nearby London hospitals. We saw many doctors and nurses occupying these apartments; enjoying a quiet sanctuary with fully fitted kitchens and living rooms as well as access to much-needed laundry facilities. Hampers filled with essential items, put together by The Camden Grocer, were also provided.
We also encouraged all staff to spend some of their working day helping the more vulnerable through a variety of charity initiatives such as AGE UKs ‘telephone friend’ matching or helping individuals in their neighbourhood with essential tasks.
As the situation evolves, we continue to look for ways we can help and support the local community, our members and our staff.
