We’re excited to introduce a new series, Voice of LABS, where we spotlight the incredible individuals who make our community thrive. First up, meet Matilda, our General Manager for Victoria House, Hogarth House, and Southampton Place. Get an inside look at her daily routine, what she loves about working at LABS, and what makes our spaces special.

1.Describe a typical day for you at LABS

First thing, is a coffee and a check in/catch up with the team. I then check my emails and work out my schedule for the day. Meetings, catch up etc. I action anything I need to do. I try to take a walk on my lunch to get some fresh air! Then after that I finish up any outstanding issues and always a fizzy drink at half 3 to keep me going!

2. What do you enjoy most about working at LABS?

The working environment for sure, the calmness of the design really helps me to be productive. I want LABS to be a place where people enjoy coming to work and that just doesn’t just mean my team that extends to our members too.

3. What’s your favourite spot in the LABS office?

Ah I have two, so one is my office in Victoria House. Its like my little cave, cosy and calm and the second would have to be working beside the big windows in 90 High Holborn. If it’s raining or if the sun is shining it’s a beautiful spot.

4. How does the design of LABS spaces inspire your work?

The neutral design and splashes of the greenery really help my mind stay focused, productive and calm.

5. What’s your favourite feature or amenity in our coworking spaces?

The gym, who doesn’t love a spontaneous run or lifting session?

6. What’s one thing you think sets LABS apart from other coworking spaces?

The environment, I’ve worked in most of the LABS buildings and although they are similar in terms of design the vibe and atmosphere differs from building to building. The design of the space really maximises the potential of your work.

7. What’s one interesting fact about LABS that people might not know?

Hogarth House used to be a tube station! Southampton Place was also was built in the 1700s

8. What’s your favourite LABS event or activity?

The community drinks obviously but I do also enjoy the yoga and reki in the sky lounge.

9. What’s the best part of being part of the LABS team?

Hands down it is the team, I’ve created genuine and special friendships here at LABS.
