Beyond the desk: community, creativity and connection at LABS

Community Events Editor's Choice Work-Life Balance

The way we work is ever-changing, and there are more options than ever when choosing an ideal workspace. Gone are the days of regimented office cubicles – many employers now offer employees more modern styles of working, including open plan office, serviced offices and coworking spaces. However, more traditional workspace designs still continue to be popular. So, when it comes to serviced office vs conventional office, how do the two measure up?

The way we work is ever-changing, and there are more options than ever when choosing an ideal workspace. Gone are the days of regimented office cubicles – many employers now offer employees more modern styles of working, including open plan office, serviced offices and coworking spaces. However, more traditional workspace designs still continue to be popular. So, when it comes to serviced office vs conventional office, how do the two measure up?

Every LABS location is designed with intention, and our events programme is no different.  Across our office spaces in London, from Holborn to Camden, our curated events bring our community together to enjoy experiences shaped by what we know our members value most: wellbeing, creativity, professional growth and genuine connection.

Each month, the LABS calendar evolves to reflect the rhythm of work and life in our spaces — purposeful, inspiring, and grounded in community. It’s one of the private office membership benefits that makes LABS more than a workspace: it’s a place to connect, recharge and grow.

Wellbeing & Mindset

Wellbeing is at the core of our culture.

Regular classes, such as morning yoga and reiki at LABS House, Pilates at Hawley Lock and yoga, breathwork and meditation at Hogarth House, all help to anchor the week with intention and movement.

For those who’d like to try something a little different, more immersive experiences, like the Sound Bath at the Atrium or Ice Bath & Breathwork at Southampton Place, have offered restorative ways to recharge and refocus.

Every session reflects our belief that a workspace with community events should support every facet of our members’ wellbeing — physical, mental, and emotional.

Creative Workshops

Our creative workshops give members the space to disconnect from the everyday and reconnect with hands-on crafts.

From perfume making at 90 High Holborn to our autumnal wreath workshop at Hawley Lock, these sessions have encouraged play, patience, and design-led thinking. Wildlife drawing at LABS House, featuring therapy dogs and even an owl, brought a moment of calm focus, while our seed workshop at Southampton Place was the perfect pairing of mindfulness with sustainability.

These carefully chosen sessions remind both private office members and roaming members that creativity isn’t a luxury — it’s a vital part of a balanced, modern working life.

Professional Growth & Learning

Growth at LABS is built into your workday. Our professional events in workspaces have helped members to sharpen their skills, share knowledge and explore new ideas.

Recent Lunch & Learn sessions at LABS House and Hawley Lock focussed on storytelling and creating standout video content: practical workshops designed to help businesses grow with confidence. At Hawley Lock, headshot sessions offered members the opportunity to refine their professional presence.

It’s this balance of purpose and creativity that sets LABS apart as a serviced office. Many of these sessions have also inspired members to host their own talks and workshops at our flexible event spaces available across both campuses.

Social & Cultural Connection

Community is the heartbeat of LABS. Our social and cultural events are crafted to bring members together naturally — to unwind, connect and celebrate.

From Monday Sounds with Chilli Jam at LABS House to live music and drinks at the Atrium, our gatherings have created space for genuine connection beyond the workday. Each one reflects LABS’ belief that an office space with benefits should nurture collaboration and community as much as purpose and productivity.
